This summer undergraduate Demi Sandel participated in the Baylor SMART Program. She was able to conduct research in a medical environment, meet students from across the country, and volunteer at the hospital. Demi worked as a research assistant in Dr. Benny Kaipparettu's lab studying the role of CD24 in adipogenesis and how it is linked to breast cancer. She also volunteered weekly at Texas Children's Hospital and shadowed at Texas Children's and various Baylor clinics. Comments are closed.
